The aim of the Festival of the Conga Pollera is to celebrate the permanence and flowering of the spirit that originates in the Congo culture that challenged the hardship of slavery and the crossing of the enslaved from Africa to settle in the hearts of congo drums, which never ceased to beat to the rhythm of their customs and traditions. Conga Queen has been the guardian of their culture, which today we celebrate the turn of her skirt. This edition is dedicated to Omara and Zuleyma Salamanca, who contributed their songs and dances to the preservation and enhancement of their cultural heritage.
